Oren Engineering Ltd is an engineering business with a global mindset. Oren works with a vast range of industries, from agriculture and fishing to mining and healthcare. Our clients include small businesses through to the largest companies in the world.
Ormond Engineering Ltd was founded in 2005 by Vic and Sylvia Ormond, building on Vic's decades of hands-on engineering expertise. Vic holds an Advanced Trade Certificate in Fitting & Turning, earned in the early 1960s, and developed deep specialist knowledge across multiple sectors, including industrial automation within the fruit industry.
Originally serving local clients across Marlborough and the wider New Zealand region, Ormond Engineering provided precision fitting, turning, and light engineering services. Over time, the business expanded significantly, delivering innovative engineering solutions to clients across the mining, healthcare, fishing, and agricultural industries.
Kevin Ormond, son of Vic and Sylvia, later assumed the role of CEO, bringing with him a strong technical background spanning aviation, operations management, and supervisory leadership. Kevin's expertise in business metrics, operational excellence, and continuous improvement drove significant growth at Ormond Engineering, including the establishment of a dedicated research and development function.
Change of Ownership - April 2026
On 22 April 2026, Vic, Sylvia, and Kevin Ormond sold Ormond Engineering Ltd to Ryan Stevens, a long-standing and trusted member of the Ormond Engineering team.

Following the sale, Kevin Ormond has launched Oren Engineering Ltd, continuing his mission to deliver engineering excellence across an expanding range of industries, both throughout New Zealand and internationally.
